Qamar Zaman Kaira says no chance of default in FM Bilawal’s presence

Canada Global (Web News) According to Qamar Zaman Kaira, the prime minister’s adviser for Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, there was no danger of a default as long as Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto was a member of the coalition administration.

Speaking to the media in the provincial capital of Punjab, Mr. Kaira acknowledged that the price of energy and gas increased when the current government took office, adding that the foreign minister was aware that the populace was dissatisfied and undernourished.

If the coalition administration had not made the difficult choices, Mr. Kaira claimed that “things would have been different and the country may have gone into default.”

Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was criticised by Mr. Kaira, who also advised the nation’s youth not to be inflamed by Imran’s claim that Pakistan would imitate Sri Lanka.

FM Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has a vision to follow, said Mr. Kaira, who lavished admiration on Mr. Bhutto-Zardari and urged young people to follow in his footsteps.

Imran Khan wants a CJP-backed panel to probe Wazirabad attack

Canada Global (Web News) Imran Khan, a former prime minister, stated on Thursday that the Supreme Court is “my only chance for justice” and that he wanted a committee, supported by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, to look into the Wazirabad murder attempt.

Khan was leading a protest march to Islamabad to persuade the government into calling an early election when he was wounded in the leg on December 3. The protest march was interrupted in Rawalpindi.

During a televised press conference in Lahore, Khan remarked, “I earlier expressed this as well: I only expect for justice from one place [SC] as powerful individuals will not permit the probe to take place.

In an apparent allusion to the armed forces’ participation in his attack, Khan stated that while every institution has “bad sheep,” the Pakistan Army was a top institution that served its nation.

“I now want the individual who plotted my murder to assist the JIT. These people are purposefully impeding justice, “The former premier stated.

PTI leader previously accused a top military commander, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, and others of being engaged in his purported assassination attempt.

Imran Khan tries to twist facts about assassination attempt: Sanaullah

Canada Global (Web News) Rana Sanaullah, the interior minister, has charged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) with distorting the truth regarding the murder attempt on Imran Khan in Wazirabad on November 3 of last year.

Sanaullah denied the former premier’s assertions that the three gunmen were present at the scene while speaking to a press conference in Lahore on Thursday. He also asserted that the former premier did not sustain bullet wounds in the incident.

He made his statement the day after PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that the JIT established to look into Imran’s assassination attempt had discovered that the former prime minister had been the target of a planned assassination attempt in the Wazirabad incident.

The senior vice president of the PTI Chaudhry shared the JIT’s findings, claiming that by reducing the number of police officers in Gujrat, a window of opportunity for the attack and subsequent assassination attempt on Imran Khan was created.

The JIT report’s revelations will be made public soon, Chaudhry stated in a statement to the media. He continued, “A carefully planned story was written out to give the assassination attempt the cover of a crime with a religious motivation.

In response to his assertions, Sanaullah claimed there was only one shooter at the site, Naveed, who he described as a religious zealot.

He claimed that the Punjabi government might link other suspects to the Wazirabad case.

Fifty percent of PTI parliamentarians don’t want to resign

Canada Global (Web News) According to PTI MP Nasir Khan Musazai, 50% of the party’s National Legislature members do not wish to resign, while Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi opposes dissolving the provincial assembly.

A day earlier, Shafay Hussain, the son of Chaudhry Shujaat, president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), asserted that CM Elahi initially requested his father contact the PML-N but then sided with PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Elahi appeared to be returning a few weeks ago, but the PML-Q leader said that he instead joined Imran Khan.

Musazai stated that PTI lawmakers want to join other political parties in the meanwhile. “Imran Khan allegedly killed himself by attacking his facilitators. He raised our expectations for 2018,” the parliamentarians claimed.

In his tirade of condemnation, the PTI leader, he continued, “did not spare anybody, including the establishment, judges, and politicians.”

The former prime minister, who was removed from office in April 2022 following a no-confidence vote in the National Assembly, has been openly and repeatedly criticising other military officials, including the former chief of army staff General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, for failing to continue to support his administration.

The lower house of parliament member continued by stating that while the former prime minister was supported for his Riyasat-e-Madinah rhetoric, he was unable to fulfil it. He claimed that “only ulemas (religious clerics) could accomplish such work.”

Imran khan confess he was playboy

Canada Global (Web News) Imran Khan, a former prime minister, claimed on Sunday that he had admitted to being a playboy to General (R) Qamar Javed Bajwa, a former army head.

In an interview with the media at his Zaman Park mansion in Lahore, Imran described his last encounter with Gen (R) Bajwa as follows: “General Bajwa called me a playboy, and in response I answered to him ‘Yes, I had been a playboy. While while demonstrating pity, Bajwa stabbed us in the back.

The setup of former COAS General (R) Qamar Javed Bajwa, according to PTI Chairman Imran Khan, “is still working in the establishment.” Without mentioning the army head by name, Imran remarked: “In Pakistan, the institution is referred to by a single name.”

Former premier claimed that the former army leader did not want accountability in the nation and as a result, his relationships with Gen (R) Bajwa deteriorated. The former premier was ousted from office by a vote of no confidence in the National Assembly in April of last year.

Imran responded to a query by stating that Bajwa had stabbed him in the back and was now showing support for him. Imran asserted that the former army chief was opposed to the nation’s legal system.

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif charged Gen (R) Bajwa with using Husain Haqqani, a former Pakistani ambassador to the US, to negotiate for him in Washington.

Additionally, the ousted prime minister said Haqqani ran an attack against him and had been endorsing the former army chief in the US. Imran pointed his pistols towards Pervez Musharraf, the former president and head of the army, and claimed that he gained money by “selling terrorism.”

“Dollars can be obtained by selling terrorism,” said the deposed prime minister. However, 80,000 people died as a result of Musharraf’s actions, he added. Imran added that the country will only progress when the army and all political parties are on the same page.

He went on to say that military operations are not a solution to any problem, and that he has always spoken out against operations in Waziristan. In response to the country’s current political crisis, the former prime minister reiterated that the PTI would not return to the National Assembly. He went on to say that it would be a waste of time.

Imran slammed the establishment once more, claiming that three of their lawmakers had been asked to abstain from voting during the Punjab Assembly’s vote of confidence. The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leaders have been incorporated into the PPP (to compete with the PTI in the upcoming election),” the PTI head continued.

The PTI chairman emphasised the need of free and fair elections and claimed that transparent elections will provide stability to the nation. He also criticised the nation’s “game of audio leaks.” Imran berated the coalition administration, claiming that Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the foreign minister, knew nothing about Afghanistan.

The previous prime minister praised his government’s foreign policy and claimed that they had friendly relations with the present leadership in the country that was racked by civil war. Imran stated Najam Sethi has nothing to do with cricket in response to a query regarding the coalition government’s choice to replace former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja.

It should be recalled that Raja was fired only a few days after the national team lost an embarrassing first-ever 3-0 home series against England, per a government notice.

PTI’s Azam Swati couldn’t be released despite bail order

Canada Global (Web News) Azam Swati, a senator for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was granted bail in the contentious tweets case by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday.

The ruling reserved earlier today by IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, granted bail to the PTI leader in the case brought against him in November 2022, was made public.

The senator’s bail has been approved in exchange for Rs. 200 000 in surety bonds.

Since his arrest on November 27 for using derogatory language about senior military figures, including former army head General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, Swati has been imprisoned. The elderly man insulted Bajwa with profanities.

Concerning the case filed against him on November 26, Swati filed a petition in the IHC requesting his release on bail. On December 21, trial court Judge Azam Khan rejected the senator’s initial plea because he believed he had committed the same crime twice.

The senator stated in his application that he did not criticise any institutions online. Despite an investigation, he continued, the prosecution has no evidence to support its case.

Swati is 75 years old, has heart illness, and jail time would be a penalty even if he were not found guilty because the sole evidence against him is documented, claims the motion.

Islamabad High Court directs ECP to hold LG elections in Islamabad tomorrow

Canada Global (Web News) The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has been ordered by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to hold local body elections in the federal capital tomorrow (Saturday).

The decision by the ECP to postpone the local government elections set for December 31 was overturned by IHC Judge Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir on Friday. He then directed the election monitor to hold the elections in 101 union councils of the federal capital on the scheduled day.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir had earlier today put off making a ruling on the PTI’s petition challenging the ECP’s election postponement decision.

The ECP had agreed to hold local body elections in Islamabad in seven to ten days during the case hearing, but held the province and federal governments accountable for failing to organise local body polls on time.

The comment was made by the electoral body in a written statement it provided to the IHC in a lawsuit involving the capital’s postponement of the LB elections.

Bajwa helped PTI in Senate, elections: Alvi

Canada Global (Web News) At a dinner on Saturday, President Arif Alvi engaged in a wide-ranging discussion with journalists, prominent business figures, and foreign diplomats. He voiced his extreme worry and distress about the publication of audio recordings and videos of political leaders’ private talks.

He claimed to have made it a point to discuss the “game of audios and films” with the new army head. “I find it surprising why it continues. In any moral sense, it shouldn’t go on, he said.

The ‘neutrality’ of the armed forces was another topic President Alvi claimed to have discussed with the army leader. He related a humorous incident from his time in the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in the 1990s, when party candidates had to respond to the issue of whether they drank alcohol before submitting their nomination papers.

He recounted how one of the candidates admitted to drinking, while another claimed to have stopped drinking only two days prior. He added that this makes everyone laugh, “I mention this incident to all friends of mine who wear uniform, only to inform them if you’ve left politics – you’ve left it only the day before yesterday.”

The president stated that if the army had left politics, it was time for politicians to take over. “You [politician] should make it so that you don’t have to run to them [army],” he said.

PTI to ask CM Elahi for taking vote of confidence soon

Canada Global (Web News) Fawad Chaudhry, senior vice president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), announced on Saturday that the group would ask Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi to submit a vote of confidence as soon as possible.

The PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) will make sure the vote of confidence is passed as soon as possible, the ex-information minister promised, allowing them to dissolve the legislatures.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) had reinstalled Elahi as the chief minister the day before after receiving assurances from the PML-Q leader, a close supporter of Khan, that he would not dissolve the legislature once in power.

But in an unexpected turn of events, he and the PTI both reiterated their intentions to dissolve the parliament just moments after the chief minister gave the LHC an assurance that he would not do so.

“We are sure we control the majority. If Speaker [Sibtain Khan] isn’t counted, we have the backing of 187 legislators. The chief minister has also stated that he is prepared to call for the assembly’s dissolution “added Fawad.

The PTI Chairman Imran Khan called a meeting of the party’s senior leadership today, when it was decided that the vote of confidence will occur as soon as possible, the senior vice president stated.

A PTI delegation will meet with Elahi and his son Moonis Elahi as part of the plan to talk about the choice and set a time for the chief minister to take a vote of confidence.

Imran Khan says no contact with establishment now

Canada Global (Web News) Imran Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former prime minister, stated on Friday that he is not in contact with the ruling class “at the moment”

At his Zaman Park mansion in Lahore, Khan stated in a speech to prominent journalists that “the establishment is a reality and only it can play its role for the supremacy of law.”

He claimed that the former chief of army staff (COAS) always advised him to concentrate on the economy rather than his opposition parties and their accountability, saying, “I used to stay in touch with [former chief of army staff General Qamar Javed] Bajwa, but he always asked me to think in a particular direction.”

The PTI leader claimed the coalition government wants to postpone general elections in response to a query about the existing political situation in Punjab and the determination of the government, which is led by the Pakistan Democratic Movement, to hold elections as planned.

He asserted that Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Asif Ali Zardari, the co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), are avoiding the general elections because they are terrified of him.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) stated last week that it would be unable to hold the general elections as planned without the final digital data of the seventh census by March 31 of the following year. The next elections, according to the poll’s organising body, are anticipated to take place in the country in October 2023.

Punjab Assembly can’t be dissolved, says Speaker Sibtain Khan

Canada Global (Web News) As the political situation in the country’s largest province deteriorates, Punjab Assembly Speaker Sibtain Khan said on Thursday that the provincial assembly could not be dissolved tomorrow (Friday).

“The Punjab assembly cannot be dissolved. The motion of no confidence has been presented, and notices will be issued. “The matter will be moved to the first week of January,” the speaker said at a press conference in Lahore.

On Monday of this week, the Punjab Assembly heard a vote of no-confidence against Chief Minister Parvez Elahi from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

The change occurred shortly after Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated on December 23 that the provincial assembly would be dissolved.

In response to the Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-letter Rehman’s to the speaker from the previous day, Sibtain Khan remarked that it is not the governor’s responsibility to provide or deny someone a ministry. A new session cannot be called by the governor while an ongoing one is taking place in the assembly, he stressed.

President Alvi calls on Imran Khan as power politics in full swing in Punjab

Canada Global (Web News) In the midst of the continuing political unrest in Punjab, Pakistan’s largest province, President Arif Alvi spoke with Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

As the provincial government and opposition continue to disagree over the no-confidence resolution and vote of confidence against Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, uncertainty has descended upon Punjab.

While the opposition asserts that it could disturb the ruling coalition, the PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) are convinced that they have the necessary support to ensure that the Punjab CM stays in office.

President Alvi asked the former prime minister to speak about his discussions with Senator Ishaq Dar, Minister of Finance and Revenue, and other federal ministries as political tensions continue to rise.

Additionally, the two leaders discussed the decisions made by the PTI’s senior leadership at today’s meeting as well as those made by the party’s ally, PML-Q.

According to Punjab Minister for Environment Protection and Parliamentary Affairs Muhammad Basharat Raja, Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Sibtain Khan has written to President Alvi requesting that the current governor be removed.

According to the former law minister, the president has the power to fire the governor in accordance with Article 101(3).

Basharat claimed that the governor’s behaviour was also criticised in the letter calling for the speaker’s removal.

Gen Bajwa solely responsible for prevailing crises: Imran

Canada Global (Web News) The PTI Chairman Imran Khan declared on Monday that General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa was “solely responsible for the country’s ongoing political and economic issues,” including his removal from office in April of this year, in yet another harsh declaration against the former army head.

The former prime minister claimed that Gen (retd) Bajwa was in charge of the National Accountability Bureau while speaking to international reporters at his Zaman Park mansion in Lahore (NAB). He asserted that despite his resistance, the old army chief gave the current leaders NRO, or reprieve in corruption cases.

Gen. (Ret.) Bajwa, according to the former prime minister, initially did not object to his efforts to hold corrupt officials accountable, but “ultimately asked me to focus on the economy and to shift away from accountability,” he said.

Imran highlighted that the PTI and the PML-Q were two autonomous political organisations and that as a result, the latter had its own different policy on Gen (retd) Bajwa. Imran was responding to Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi’s statement favouring the former army chief.

“The Punjab Chief Minister has handed over a summary to me, and I will send this recommendation to the Punjab Governor on Friday,” he said.

Imran promises no action against Gen Bajwa after coming into power

Canada Global (Web News) Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Sunday that he has a “personal” dispute with former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, but that if he returns to power, he will not take action against him.

He said this while speaking with a group from the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) at his Lahore home in Zaman Park.

General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has stated that he will maintain his impartiality, according to Imran. The biggest test of his neutrality, he noted, will be conducting elections within three months after the dissolution of parliament.

He claimed that after Lt. Gen. (retd) Faiz Hameed was fired as director general of the ISI, it became clear that a plot to overthrow the PTI administration had been devised. I warned Gen. Bajwa that no one will be able to run the country’s economy if the plan to overthrow the government is successful, he continued.

The former prime minister claimed that he had explained to the former army chief why Shehbaz should be given consideration for the position of prime minister despite being implicated in corruption charges involving Rs16 billion. But, he said, he later learned that General (retired) Bajwa had no problem with corruption.

According to Imran, Pakistan’s economy would have fared much better if a coronavirus outbreak and China’s two-year blockade hadn’t occurred.

In response, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira reaffirmed that the government’s position is still in place, calling for elections for the dissolved legislatures and by-elections on the vacant seats.

There were rumours that CM Elahi would not support the PTI chairman’s choice before Imran announced the date, but the chief minister denied the rumours and swore to support “all of Imran Khan’s decisions.”

Imran Khan thanked both chief ministers in his speech today for “sacrificing” their respective ministries for the “betterment of the nation” and declared that his party would now launch its election campaign.

Army and judiciary should think where we stand today, says Imran Khan

Canada Global (Web News) Imran Khan, chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), urged the military and the judiciary to consider the country’s current state in light of the prevailing economic and political crisis.

In a speech to the nation delivered via video, Khan said that calling early elections was the best way to address the nation’s “alarming” continuing economic situation.

The media outlets who were responsible for informing the public about the current economic crisis aren’t doing their jobs, according to Khan, who claimed that this may be the worst economic disaster this nation has ever seen.

The former prime minister claimed that because economic decline would have an impact on the entire nation, he was also addressing the institutions.

According to Khan, the PTI government’s National Security Policy (NSP) said that even though the Soviet Union’s military forces were the best in the world, they were unable to prevent the state’s demise because of the country’s dire economic situation.

Canada Global (Web News) Early elections in the nation have been ruled out by Minister for Economic Affairs Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who also asserts that the coalition government led by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) at the Center will serve its full term.

“The current administration’s term will end. Elections will take place when they are due “Speaking Sunday on the “Jirga” programme of Geo News, the minister added.

Asserting that the federal government is solely concerned with boosting the economy, Sadiq dismissed rumours and pressure placed on it as a result of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s attempts to drive the nation toward the impending snap elections.

The PTI has threatened to dissolve the assemblies in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa if the ruling coalition in Islamabad does not hold early elections. Last month, Khan addressed his party’s Haqeeqi Azadi march in Rawalpindi and made the declaration regarding the dissolution of assembly while urging his followers to stop approaching Islamabad.

In a statement regarding Khan’s removal as prime minister, Sadiq claimed that it was done in accordance with the Constitution.

“Imran Khan was expelled in accordance with the law. We are not using his strategies. If we had used his tactics, we could have accomplished a great deal “added he.

The leader of the PDM coalition government’s opposition party, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), disputed the previous premier’s critique of the PDM’s economy.

He continued, “What major initiative has Imran Khan made?”

Earlier today, the ousted prime minister issued a warning that Pakistan’s default risk had increased to 100% since 88% of local investors did not trust the current administration.
