Canada Global (Web News) Rana Sanaullah, the interior minister, has charged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) with distorting the truth regarding the murder attempt on Imran Khan in Wazirabad on November 3 of last year.
Sanaullah denied the former premier’s assertions that the three gunmen were present at the scene while speaking to a press conference in Lahore on Thursday. He also asserted that the former premier did not sustain bullet wounds in the incident.
He made his statement the day after PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that the JIT established to look into Imran’s assassination attempt had discovered that the former prime minister had been the target of a planned assassination attempt in the Wazirabad incident.
The senior vice president of the PTI Chaudhry shared the JIT’s findings, claiming that by reducing the number of police officers in Gujrat, a window of opportunity for the attack and subsequent assassination attempt on Imran Khan was created.
The JIT report’s revelations will be made public soon, Chaudhry stated in a statement to the media. He continued, “A carefully planned story was written out to give the assassination attempt the cover of a crime with a religious motivation.
In response to his assertions, Sanaullah claimed there was only one shooter at the site, Naveed, who he described as a religious zealot.
He claimed that the Punjabi government might link other suspects to the Wazirabad case.
