Canada Global (Web News) Pervez Musharraf, a former president, died at the age of 79 in Dubai following a protracted illness, according to a report on Sunday by Geo News.

The former military leader passed away at American Hospital Dubai, where he was receiving amyloidosis therapy.

The application to transfer Musharraf’s body to Pakistan was submitted by his family to the Pakistani consulate in Dubai.

In order to return Musharraf’s mortal remains to Pakistan, a special jet will depart from Nur Khan airfield and fly to Dubai.

The All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), a political organisation founded by Musharraf, denied the death rumours when they first appeared last year.

The news that he was critically ill or on a ventilator had been denied by the party. Musharraf’s condition was stable and he was receiving amyloidosis treatment at home, according to the statement.

The illness known as amyloidosis is brought on by an aberrant protein that accumulates in tissues and organs and impairs their functionality.

The former president will be laid to rest in a Karachi cemetery, according to people close to his family. The grieving family formally requested permission from the Pakistani consulate in Dubai to return Musharraf’s lifeless remains to Pakistan.

In order to return Musharraf’s body to Pakistan for burial, a special aircraft would touch down at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport on Monday morning, the sources claimed.

While his father was buried in Karachi, the former president’s mother was interred in Dubai.

KE consumers to see reduction of Rs7.43

Canada Global (Web News) The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved a Rs7.43 per unit reduction in K-(KE) Electric’s power tariff due to a monthly fuel charges adjustment (FCA) for electricity consumed in November 2022.

The power regulator also raised the price for ex-Wapda Distribution Companies (Discos) customers by Rs0.1857 per unit due to FCA for the same month.

Following a petition filed by KE in which the company sought a reduction of Rs7.043 per unit, the power regulator announced that it has allowed KE to reduce its tariff by Rs7.4307 per unit for the month of November, providing Rs10.67 billion in relief to its Karachi customers.

According to a Nepra notification, all consumer groups, with the exception of lifeline consumers, home consumers consuming up to 300 units, agricultural consumers, and KE’s Electric Vehicle Charging Station (EVCS) consumers, would be subject to the negative FCA for November 2022.

Although KE has used the rate of Rs6.2700 per unit for the cost of energy obtained from the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA-G) in the current month, the authority’s approved fuel cost component in the matter of XWDiscos for the current month is Rs6.2654 per unit.
