Zardari asks govt to raise workers’ wages to Rs35,000 amid economic crisis

Canada Global (Web News) Asif Ali Zardari, a former president, proposed on Tuesday that the coalition government increase the minimum pay for employees to Rs35,000.

According to Zardari, the government should take action to address social issues in light of the present economic climate.

Zardari expressed his concern, saying it was the government’s responsibility to provide relief to the masses.

As Pakistan struggles to meet the requirements of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the revival of a desperately needed loan programme that has been stalled since September of last year, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced an increase in petroleum prices of up to Rs35 on Sunday with immediate effect.
