Canada Global (Web News) The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) established a five-person committee to investigate the severe national grid failure that occurred on January 23 and caused the worst electricity outage in months across the entire country, paralysing life and exposing the nation’s shoddy infrastructure.
The committee was formed, according to sources with knowledge of the situation, at the Standing Committee on Energy’s request to look into the cause of the power outage.
Three technical specialists have been added to the group, which will be led by the Nepra adviser, and the report will be delivered to the Nepra chairman within a month, according to additional sources.
