Ontario launches Grade 11 program to work toward skilled trade apprenticeship

Canada Global (Web News) Ontario will permit grade 11 students to start preparing for their skilled trades apprenticeships.

According to Stephen Lecce, minister of education, the agreement allows high school students to work as apprentices and receive credits towards a secondary school graduation.

According to Lecce, the modification aims to accelerate pupils’ entry into the trades.

By 2027, the province estimates that 72,000 new jobs will be required in the construction sector.

The 1.5 million homes the government of Premier Doug Ford has promised to construct by 2031.

Tens of thousands of jobs will be available in skilled trades by 2026, according to the province.
