Man faces 1st-degree murder charge in Scarborough shooting

Canada Global (Web News) A 37-year-old male, according to Toronto police, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a shooting that occurred in Scarborough towards the end of the previous year.

Officers responded to allegations of a shooting at a building at Birchmount Road and Sheppard Avenue on December 30 at about 5:30 p.m.

Police reported that they discovered a 34-year-old guy with a gunshot wound in an underground parking lot. He was later identified as Gars-Ara Kourjakian.

At the scene, Kourjakian was later declared dead.

Police detained a 37-year-old man in connection with the homicide two weeks later.

According to the police, Devret Clarke is accused of first-degree murder.
