Man arrested after vehicles stolen in Toronto area, police say

Canada Global (Web News) According to Toronto police, a 39-year-old male has been charged in connection with a stolen car investigation.

According to Toronto police, on August 31, 2022, officers were notified that a guy was allegedly attempting to break into a car near Lawrence Avenue West and Bathurst Street and individual was detained and accused with attempting to steal a car.

A search warrant, according to the police, was also used.

According to evidence gathered through the search warrant, investigators “found that the accused was actively involved in the theft of Jeep Grand Cherokees in the months prior to his original arrest,” police said in a news release.

The individual is allegedly responsible for 11 vehicle thefts in the Toronto area between July 7 and August 30, 2022, according to police.

Sebastien Thibault, a 39-year-old man from Sorel, Quebec, was detained on Thursday, according to the police.

He faces 11 counts of motor vehicle theft and 11 counts of breaking probation, respectively.

According to the police, Thibault will appear in court in Toronto on Friday.
