Canada Global (Web News) Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed was nominated by the government as the new head of the National Accountability Bureau on Saturday (NAB).
In accordance with Section 6 of the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999 (XVIII of 1999), as amended from time to time, consultation between the Leaders of the House, the Prime Minister, and the Opposition in the National Assembly has been made, and there is a consensus on the name of Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Nazir Ahmad, for his appointment by the Federal Government as Chairman, National Accountability Bureau, according to a notification from the Prime Minister House (NAB).
In 1983, Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed received his commission in the Pakistani Army’s 40th Border Force Regiment. He earned degrees from Pakistan’s National Defence University and the Command and Staff College.
In addition to leading an infantry division in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, he was commander of the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) prior to his appointment as the XI Corps’ (Peshawar Corps’) commander in December 2016. (FATA).
