Calgary Transit launches new weekend group day pass

Canada Global (Web News) This weekend, Calgary Transit will introduce a new group day pass to make it simpler for families and groups to get to weekend activities.

The pass can be purchased starting on Saturday through the MyFare app, the Transit app, or ticket kiosks at CTrain stations. Tickets start at $15 and are good for up to five passengers, including up to two adults, for unlimited travel on a weekend day until the conclusion of service.

According to the city, the pass is designed for families and other groups who occasionally take public transportation but could benefit from reduced rates.

Ward 11 Coun. Kourtney Penner said in a statement, “We know that for many families or groups travelling together, the cost to go around can really pile up.”

“With this lower cost, customers will find it simpler to choose transit to get where they’re going.”

The pass, Penner continued, is more affordable than buying numerous single-ride tickets or day passes.

Weekends in Calgary are often jam-packed with events, and this pass gives groups a wonderful chance to save money on regular transit fares as well as the expense and bother of driving, parking, and negotiating traffic, according to the spokesperson.
