Canada Global (Web News) Eight adolescent females are scheduled to show up for a bail hearing in the new year on accusations of second-degree murder in the death of a homeless man in Toronto.
A 59-year-old man was allegedly mobbed and stabbed in the downtown core in mid-December by three 13-year-olds, three 14-year-olds, and two 16-year-olds. He eventually passed away in the hospital, according to Toronto police.
The Youth Criminal Justice Act’s restrictions prevent the disclosure of the accused’s identity.
A lawyer for one of the girls asked Crown attorneys to provide a video of the alleged attack that was put on the well-known online video site TikTok during a brief court appearance on Thursday.
The case needs to be continued because, according to the judge, several of the teenagers are still in the process of hiring attorneys.
