Canada Global (Web News) The province has unveiled a five-year plan to boost rural Alberta’s economy, integrating numerous initiatives into a single, well-coordinated approach.
Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Nate Horner unveiled the plan on Wednesday. It is the culmination of a year of consultation with stakeholders and involves more than $1.5 billion in previously committed spending.
Plan includes the $390 million broadband strategy, the $933 million irrigation infrastructure, the 133 capital maintenance and renewal projects, the $59 million expansion of the University of Calgary’s veterinary medicine programme, the $70 million film and television tax credit, and the $8 million for Indigenous communities.
