Twitter to launch verified service with colors next week: Elon Musk

Canada Global (Web News) After a disastrous initial launch that saw a rise in users posing as brands and celebrities, Twitter is aiming to debut its verified service with various coloured checks for people, businesses, and governments next Friday.

Friday saw Chief Executive Elon Musk assign colours to the various categories: gold for businesses, grey for governments, and blue checks for people, including celebrities.

He explained in another tweet on Friday that the updated $8-per-month service will let users to have a smaller, secondary logo of their organisations if verified by them. Next week, a longer explanation.

The social media site postponed its debut on Monday to ensure its security. The service is anticipated to help Twitter increase revenue at a time when Musk is attempting to keep advertisers after purchasing the firm last month for $44 billion.

The subscription service, which Musk referred to as a “great leveller,” was put on hold on November 11 as a result of the proliferation of bogus accounts, which led the richest man in the world to reinstate the “official” badge for some users.
