Imran Khan says two professional killers hired to assassinate me

Canada Global (Web News) According to reports, former prime minister Imran Khan said on Tuesday that two assassins with ties to South Waziristan had been recruited to kill him.

Mr. Khan asserted that the professional murderers had also been paid to carry out their crimes while presiding over a meeting attended by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokespersons. According to the sources, he claimed to have the proof, according to sources.

Earlier, Mr. Khan had claimed that Asif Ali Zardari, a former president and co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), had devised a “new plan” to assassinate him because of his connections to a terrorist organisation.

In retaliation, Mr. Khan was promised legal action by the PPP. On the other hand, foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto claimed that Mr. Zardari’s family was now facing greater dangers as a result of the accusations made by Mr. Khan against him.

  • Fawad Chaudhry’s arrest was not ordered by government, says Marriyum

Fawad Chaudhry’s arrest was not ordered by government, says Marriyum

Canada Global (Web News) On Wednesday, Marriyum Aurangzeb, the federal minister for information, refuted claims that the government was responsible for Fawad Chaudhry’s imprisonment by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

“We have the same power as the PTI held while in power,” she clarified, “but we will not use it for political victimisation.”

“Some people are making an effort to suggest that Fawad Chaudhry’s imprisonment was motivated by politics. But let me take this chance to be clear: the whole top-tier PTI leadership would be in jail if we decided to arrest [our political opponents].

In a press conference held yesterday outside Imran Khan’s mansion in Zaman Park, Fawad publically “threatened” the members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). As a result, police detained him at his home earlier today.

Fawad stated that he is “proud” of the case that has been filed against him while speaking to the media outside of the Lahore court where the police had brought him to request remand.

The police also detained Faraz Chaudhry, the brother of Fawad Chaudhry, when PTI workers protested near GT Road in Jhelum. After a brief arrest, a local magistrate freed him on bail.

The federal minister stated at her news conference that ECP Secretary Omer Hamid Khan, not the government, had filed the initial information report on the case against Fawad (FIR).

“We have been in power for the last nine months, but we avoided the PTI’s strategies. Ministers and Imran Khan himself would attend news conferences while they were in office and explain how his political rivals will be imprisoned later.”

Selection of Mohsin Naqvi make polls controversial: Shah Mahmood Qureshi

Canada Global (Web News) Shah Mehmood Qureshi, vice chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated on Wednesday that the election will be “difficult” in the province as a result of Mohsin Raza Naqvi’s appointment as the interim chief minister of Punjab.

The former foreign minister stated that the PTI has major concerns over Naqvi’s appointment while speaking to journalists in Multan.

In the midst of controversy and tensions among Punjab’s political stakeholders, Naqvi took his oath as caretaker CM last Sunday. The PTI decided to protest the choice of his appointment by “taking to the streets,” which was not received well.

“We approved the caretaker CM’s name as proposed by the opposition in KP. We tried to come up with a name for the Pakistan Democratic Movement in Punjab, but we were unsuccessful,” Qureshi said, lamenting the impasse.

He claimed that his party had expressed its displeasure with the appointment of an interim CM to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Qureshi asserted, “As a political party, we have the right to express our reservations.

Regarding the arrest of PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry, Qureshi stated that people who upheld the rule of law were shocked by the events of today. He claimed that a FIR was cited as justification for the arrest.

The truth is that PTI needs to be under pressure, according to Qureshi.

He also criticised Bilal Siddique Kamyana’s appointment as the Lahore capital city police officer, claiming that a person who mistreated PTI employees on May 25 was chosen for the position.

CM Elahi successful in vote of confidence

Canada Global (Web News) Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi received a vote of confidence from the Punjab Assembly after the opposition walked out, claiming that the vote was “bulldozed” and “unconstitutional” in a typically chaotic session held in the early hours of Thursday.

Speaker Sibtain Khan, who presided over the session, stated that Elahi had received 186 votes, which was exactly the number required to retain his position and one less than the 187 claimed by PTI leaders prior to voting.

Before the vote, the government and opposition lawmakers rekindled their feud around the speaker’s dais, jostling each other. Shortly after, the opposition MPs staged a walkout and boycotted the session.

Outside the Punjab Assembly, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah called the proceedings “against the rules and the Constitution,” and accused the speaker of “bulldozing” the vote of confidence.

The vote of confidence will be challenged in court, according to Sanaullah and another PML-N leader, Ata Tarar.

    Punjab imposed an environmental emergency

Canada Global (Web News) Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi declared an environmental emergency in Lahore and other cities to combat the calamity-level smog.
“There is a ban on burning crop residues across Punjab,” the CM said, ordering the implementation of a smog-reduction plan. He stated that action should be taken to control the factors that cause smog.

He stated that EPD, transportation, and administrative officers should deploy to the field because any failure to implement the ongoing SOPs to reduce smog would not be tolerated and those who set fire to crop residues should face indiscriminate punishment, and that legal action against smog-emitting vehicles should be maintained.

The city’s smog-emitting vehicles should be routinely inspected by the anti-smog squad. He added that farmers would be given a new harvester called “Hepper Seed” to eliminate crop remnants and that the squad should make sure that cars at the city’s entrances are checked.
