Russia and China to conduct joint naval exercise on December 21

Canada Global (Web News) From December 21 to December 27, Russia and China will engage in a cooperative naval exercise known as Naval Interaction-2022 in the East China Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry announced on Monday.

According to a statement posted on Telegram by the Russian Defense Ministry, the exercise’s major objectives are to maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific area and develop naval cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China.

The two navies will practise coordinated anti-submarine operations and perform cooperative missile and artillery firing against air targets, according to the statement. They will also fire artillery against sea targets.

The Russian Defense Ministry added that the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, guards missile cruiser Varyag, corvettes of project 20380 Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov, and Sovershennyy would all be present to represent the Russian Navy at the drill.
