
Canada Global (Web News) Canadian poet Rupi Kaur has turned down the Diwali invitation from the White House for supporting the Biden administration’s atrocities against women and children in Gaza.
Rupi Kaur wrote on her social media account that she rejects any invitation from any organization that supports collective punishment of civilians in Gaza. She also wrote that she was invited by the White House to attend the Diwali event But I declined the invitation because I cannot accept the invitation of those who support collective punishment by encircling the population of Gaza.
In his post, he called on other South Asians to demand answers from the US government and wrote that the US is trying to justify the genocide of innocent people in Palestine. The administration has come up with the idea of celebrating the Hindu religious festival Diwali at the White House.
It should be noted that on November 8, the Diwali ceremony has been organized inside the White House by US Vice President Kamala Harris. There has been no response from the White House or the US Vice President regarding the rejection of the Indian-Canadian poet’s invitation. Rupi Kaur is an Indian Canadian who received critical acclaim for her book ‘Milk and Honey’.
