Man sent to hospital after Calgary police-involved in shooting

Canada Global (Web News) Police said in a news release early on Thursday that one guy was hospitalised after being shot by a Calgary police officer following an altercation that began late Wednesday in the city’s northwest.

At 11:42 p.m., police were called regarding a firearms allegation in the 0-100 block of Varsity Estates Circle N.W.

Police claimed they found a man in a parking lot and tried to “de-escalate the situation over a sustained period of time,” but they were unsuccessful.

EMS and officers who were present on the scene gave the man prompt medical assistance. The individual was then taken to the hospital in a critical but stable condition.

The cop, according to the police, received minor injuries and was attended to on the spot.

The inquiry will be taken over by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team, who are aware of the circumstance.
