Canada Global(Web News)There are a few hours left before the expiration of the temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. are
According to the report of the news agency, the 6-day temporary ceasefire will end on Thursday morning, with a final group of hostages released from Gaza late in the night in exchange for dozens of Palestinian prisoners.
Both sides are under pressure to extend the ceasefire to allow the release of more hostages and the delivery of additional aid to the devastated Gaza.
In this regard, American Foreign Minister Anthony Blanken has arrived in Israel last night for talks.
Under the agreement, the ceasefire could be extended if Hamas releases 10 more hostages a day, a source close to Hamas said, adding that Hamas is ready to extend the ceasefire for four days.
However, Hamas sources later said that Hamas was not satisfied with Israel’s proposals to extend the ceasefire.
According to media reports, the former Palestinian health minister has said that Hamas has made it clear that Israel must first return from Gaza with its tanks and military equipment to release the soldiers.
On the other hand, yesterday, Hamas released 16 more hostages, among those released are Russian and Thai citizens who were handed over to the Red Cross at the Rafah border.
During the six-day ceasefire, a total of 287 prisoners have been released by both sides, 101 by Hamas and 186 by Israel.
In order to extend the ceasefire, world powers are trying to stop the war.
It should be noted that as a result of Israeli brutality in Gaza since October 7, the number of Palestinians who have been martyred has exceeded 15,000, while thousands of people, including women and children, have been injured.
