Canada Global (Web News) In the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa region of Dera Ismail Khan, police have detained four people for raping and recording a youngster before attempting to extort money from the victim’s father.
The victim’s father, a Kulachi resident, filed a FIR with the police, alleging that three months prior, two men—Badshah Rashid and Zaman Khan—raped his son while their pals Sher Alam and Riaz recorded the entire incident.
“They showed me the footage and threatened to humiliate me and my son by posting it on social media”.
He added that the four accused were blackmailing him. “I paid them Rs 2.2 million to safeguard my honour, but now they are seeking Rs 3 million,” he stated.
Imran Takkar, a child rights activist, told that the occurrence was also a case of mental abuse and extortion in addition to a violation of children’s and human rights.
Takkar noted that the Child Protection and Welfare (amendment) Act 2010 mandated that a case’s hearing be finished in 30 days and that a child protection court was in operation in the district where the case should be handled.
He claimed that in Pakistani society, women and children were the most susceptible demographics.
