Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir were awarded Nishan Imtiaz (Military).
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf along with federal ministers and armed forces officers participated in the ceremony.
General Retired General Qamar Javed Bajwa was replaced by General Asim Munir as the new Army Chief, while General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was appointed as the new Joint Chiefs of Staff in place of General Nadeem Raza.
The federal government had selected two senior generals for the top posts.
