Imran Khan wishes to appoint a new COAS on merit.

Canada Global Tv: Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former prime minister, has stated that he has no “favourites” but wants the new COAS to be chosen on the basis of qualifications.

“I do not have any favourite,” PTI Chairman Imran Khan stated in an interview. “The nomination of the Chief of Army Staff should be based on merit.”

Nawaz Sharif, the former prime minister, and Asif Zardari, the former president, according to Imran Khan, should not be appointed COAS since they are both “criminals” of the country.

The PTI long march’s failure was ruled out by the former prime minister, who also declared that his “full strategy” was ready and that they were travelling to Islamabad.

“My entire strategy is ready; the secret of what I’ll do is the Islamabad March.”

The leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf stated that conversations with the current federal administration are off the table since it had plundered the nation’s resources while in power.

Imran Khan said he could do “anything” in response to a query about the dissolution of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments.

The former prime minister earlier emphasised that he did not discuss General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s extension as the Head of Army Staff (COAS), but instead advised to maintain merit and postpone the selection of the army chief until new elections.
