A Cold Weather Alert Is In Place For England And Wales

   Canada  Global(Web News) A cold weather alert has been issued for England and Wales. About 250 flood warnings have been issued in the region. Heavy rain, storm surges and flooding have caused travel problems for people in different parts of the UK.

The UK Health Security Agency has issued a cold weather warning for the elderly and people with disabilities across England from 9am on Saturday until midday on Friday 12 January, during the day and especially at night in most parts of the country. Temperatures are above average. Almost every river in England has reached abnormal water levels.

Heavy rain in Cambridgeshire derailed buses that were in use due to flooding on the line, not reaching St Neots and Huntingdon railway stations for some time overnight. Network Rail is continuing to repair damage caused by Thursday’s landslip near Arlesie in Bedfordshire. Great Western Railway said its services were significantly affected after flooding near Chipping Sodbury. And it is feared that the line between Swindon and Bristol Parkway will remain closed for the whole weekend.
