Canada Global(Web News)During the nationwide crackdown against electricity thieves, the collection of dues continues after the registration of cases and arrests. From September 1 to October 8, a total of 27,381 cases were registered and 13,621 people were arrested while Rs 17.67 billion was recovered.
LESCO Lahore is the leader in electricity theft cases arrests and payment of dues, 12 thousand 778 cases against electricity theft were registered in LESCO Lahore and 4587 people were arrested, while dues of 4 billion 61 crore rupees were collected.
Similarly, 779 arrests were made by registering 1473 cases against electricity thieves in Gapcom and 51 crores dues were collected.
Fesco has registered 2358 cases and made 1932 arrests while collecting dues of Rs 70 crore.
In ISCO, 349 cases were registered while 263 arrests were made and dues of Rs. 38 crore were collected. In MAPCO, 5856 cases were registered, 4688 arrests were made while dues of Rs. 1 billion 90 crore were collected.
3008 cases were also registered in PESCO and 1017 arrests were made while 3 billion 17 crore rupees were collected from 50 lakh rupees as dues from electricity thieves, similarly 57 cases were registered in Tesco tribal areas, 16 arrests were made.
It should be noted that strict legal action is being taken against all the suspects arrested in the cases of electricity theft and the relevant institutions are going to crack down on the electricity thieves in the future as well
