
Canada Global(Web News) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that the plan to build canals on the Indus River has been stopped.
While holding a joint press conference with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the federal capital, Shahbaz Sharif said that no canal will be built until a consensus decision is taken in the Council of Common Interests. He said that the meeting of the Council of Common Interests will be held on May 2. I am also grateful to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. We also discussed India’s issues.
Shahbaz Sharif further said that Pakistan is a federation and it has some requirements, the canal project and the situation of the country have been discussed very seriously, and issues between the provinces are resolved through talks. Bilawal Bhutto Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto said that the Prime Minister listened to our complaints and accepted the principled position and demands of the PPP. We have agreed that no canal will be built without mutual consent. He said that he stands with the government on the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty and other measures by India and a befitting response will be given to this matter.
