
Canada Global(Web News) National Test cricketer Asad Shafiq has announced his retirement from international and professional cricket.
Asad Shafiq played the last match of his career at the National Stadium on Sunday. Under his captaincy, Karachi Whites won the final of the National T20 Cup and made the last match a memorable one. After the match, his fellow cricketers gave him a grand farewell from the ground. 37-year-old Asad Shafiq will work as PCB’s selection consultant.
Asad Shafiq represented Pakistan cricket team in 77 Tests, 60 ODIs and 10 T20 matches. He started his international career in June 2010 with an ODI match against Bangladesh.Asad Shafiq’s Test career includes 12 centuries and 27 fifties. He scored 4 thousand 660 runs in his Test career, 1 thousand 336 runs in ODIs and 192 runs in T20 Internationals. Asad Shafiq also has the honor of scoring the most centuries while playing at the sixth position. Since 2020, he has not made it to the national team in any match.
