Pervaiz Elahi sees PML-N accepting defeat by postponing Punjab Assembly elections

Canada Global (Web News) Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, a former chief minister of Punjab, stated on Friday that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was “postponing” the Punjab Assembly elections as a sign of acceptance of its defeat.

Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan, the president of the Lahore High Court Bar, and Rana Intizar Hussain, the president of the Lahore Bar, visited Mr. Elahi. Discussions were held on this occasion regarding the constitutional issues connected to the postponement of the Punjab Assembly elections.

Mr. Elahi criticised the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), alleging that the ECP had overstepped its constitutional authority and that the ECP’s role was to oversee the conduct of elections.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, a former chief minister of Punjab, stated on Wednesday that the government’s discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were unimportant.

At his meeting with PTI veterans Raja Basharat and Mehmoodur Rasheed, Mr. Elahi was voicing his opinions. The current government, he claimed, had “stopped the voyage of progress, which was initiated during the time of former prime minister Imran Khan.”

Due to the bad actions of its incompetent leaders, the nation was experiencing ramifications on a worldwide scale. The ruling class, despite their promises to help the nation’s economy, has done nothing, he said.

CM Elahi to obtain vote of confidence on Thursday

Canada Global (Web News) Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi will take the vote of confidence on Thursday because the ruling coalition has opted to stage a political power show in the Assembly instead, according to Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Wasiq Qayyum.

Mr. Qayyum had already taken a 30-minute break, and as the CM entered the building, the political fervour increased. However, the treasury benches have chosen to postpone the vote on trust until Thursday and just show the number game in the assembly tonight.

In response to the opposition’s assertion that the ruling coalition lacked the necessary majority, Mr. Qayyum responded, “we showed them the vote total of 185 today.” He continued, “We have one more surprise for the opponents.”

According to sources, PML-Q MPA Hafiz Ammar Yasir was en route to the meeting. His presence would bring the total up to 186, according to the sources.

Under the leadership of CM Elahi, the PTI and PML-Q legislative parties called a joint session to discuss the issue.

Earlier, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry posted on Twitter, “All praise to Allah, 187 has finished our number game. Anytime tonight, the CM would win a vote of confidence. “One of PTI’s Muzaffargarh MPAs was promised Rs1.2 billion [to switch allegiance],” he continued.

According to insiders with knowledge of the situation, the province government’s staff was in touch to arrange for the members to attend the Punjab Assembly.

In a viral social media video, Sanaullah is seen sitting in the front passenger seat of his official vehicle when the “political projectile” hits the windscreen.

According to sources, the shoe was allegedly thrown by the driver of PTI Member of Punjab Assembly (MPA) Rashid Hafeez.

The incident happened after the Punjab Assembly session ended amid disturbance as PML-N legislators requested that Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi face a vote of confidence.

Ata Tarar, the leader of the PML-N, and interior minister Rana Sanaullah were also in the audience gallery during the session.

Along with chants against the CM, the opposition members demanded that he call a vote of confidence in accordance with the directive of Governor Balighur Rehman.
