     Canada Global(Web News) President Dr. Arif Alvi has accepted the resignation of Supreme Court judge Justice Mazahir Naqvi, who is facing action on complaints in the Supreme Judicial Council.

    Justice Mazahir Akbar Ali Naqvi, the judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, resigned yesterday, Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi sent his resignation to the President Dr. Arif Alvi.

    In his resignation, Justice Mazahir had taken a stand that it was a matter of pride for me to first perform the duties of a judge of the Lahore High Court and then the Supreme Court. 

    He said that such circumstances which are known to the public and to some extent on record, it is not possible for me to continue to perform my duties as a judge of the Supreme Court, keeping in view the legal proceedings. Therefore, I resign today as a judge of the Supreme Court.

    The reference against Supreme Court Judge Justice Mazahar Naqvi is being heard in the Supreme Judicial Council, in which there were allegations related to his assets, while an alleged audio of him has also come out. , Justice Mazahar had submitted his detailed reply to the Council in this regard yesterday.

     (On January 10) Justice Mazahir Naqvi has denied the allegations leveled against him while submitting a detailed response to the show-cause notice to the Supreme Judicial Council.

    It should be noted that yesterday the Supreme Court of Pakistan had rejected Justice Mazahir Naqvi’s request to stop the proceedings of the Supreme Judicial Council.

    Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi had challenged the 2 show-cause notices issued by the Supreme Judicial Council in the Supreme Court on November 30 and requested to declare them null and void.

    On December 15, the Supreme Court of Pakistan rejected Justice Mazahir Naqvi’s request to immediately stop the proceedings of the Supreme Judicial Council.

    In the meeting, President Dr. Arif Alvi and Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja unanimously decided that the elections will be held on February 8, 2024, Thursday.

    The illness known as amyloidosis is brought on by an aberrant protein that accumulates in tissues and organs and impairs their functionality.

    The former president will be laid to rest in a Karachi cemetery, according to people close to his family. The grieving family formally requested permission from the Pakistani consulate in Dubai to return Musharraf’s lifeless remains to Pakistan.

    In order to return Musharraf’s body to Pakistan for burial, a special aircraft would touch down at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport on Monday morning, the sources claimed.

    While his father was buried in Karachi, the former president’s mother was interred in Dubai.
