Canada Global(Web News) Several convoys bringing aid from Egypt to Gaza got stuck at the Rafah border and hundreds of trucks were waiting for Israeli permission to enter Gaza for several days.
Photos and videos have emerged of long lines of trucks and ambulances loaded with aid from Egypt and Turkey waiting for the border to open at the Farah crossing in the city of Arish. The border is closed due to Israel’s brutal bombardment of the Gaza Strip. And the Palestinian side of the crossing has also been heavily damaged by airstrikes.
This has not only made it very difficult for people to enter or leave Gaza, but has also cut off aid at the border. Aid officials have been urging Israel to open the border and allow convoys to pass through, but this has not been forthcoming.
Many countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States, have urged their citizens trapped in Gaza to move closer to the Rafah crossing so that they can leave as soon as the border opens. Because this border can only be opened for a very limited time. American officials have said that they are trying to evacuate hundreds of Palestinian-Americans trapped in Gaza through Rafah, but so far they have not succeeded in this effort.
