Canada Global(Web News)WestJet is investing in several initiatives ahead of the summer travel season to improve its services for passengers with disabilities, airline executives said.
After a series of recent complaints from passengers about faulty mobility devices, WestJet CEO Alexis von Hoensbroech apologized for incidents where the airline disappointed its customers with disabilities and said they “Constantly looking for opportunities” to remove barriers to travel. At the end of the day ,
we need to be an organization that provides good service to our guests.
And we are committed to doing better,” he said, adding that the airline had already begun taking steps to improve access.
WestJet’s director of regulatory affairs, Todd Patterson, also participated in the committee. Some solutions will be implemented “before the summer”.
Patterson said that WestJet’s first priority is to ensure that all wheelchairs board the same flight.
