Trump administration schedules mass immigrant arrests for next week

Immigration raid to last entire week and will involve 100 to 200 ICE officers

Canada Global (Web News) U.S. immigration authorities are set to conduct nationwide mass arrests of undocumented immigrants starting Tuesday, according to a top official in Donald Trump’s incoming administration.

Tom Homan, the newly appointed “border czar” and former acting ICE director, confirmed the plans during a Fox News interview, citing Chicago as one of many targeted cities. Homan emphasized that the operation aims to prioritize public safety threats but warned that “no one is off the table” if they are in the U.S. illegally.

Reports from The Wall Street Journal indicate the Chicago operation will involve 100–200 ICE officers and could extend throughout the week. However, Chicago police stated they would not interfere or assist federal authorities, reaffirming the city’s stance as a sanctuary city that protects undocumented immigrants from arrest based solely on their immigration status.
