The World Is Not Prioritizing A Ceasefire In Gaza, Saudi Arabia

Canada Global (Web News) Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said that an immediate ceasefire in Gaza is necessary, but it seems that governments around the world do not see it as a priority.

In a joint press conference ahead of a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken in Washington, a group of foreign ministers said the focus should be on an immediate end to fighting between Hamas militants and the Israeli army in the Palestinian enclave.

On this occasion, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that our position regarding the cease-fire in Gaza is permanent and very clear that it is necessary to end the fighting immediately, while the main priority of the international community is not this. The Foreign Minister also hoped that our partners in the US would do more to address this issue as we believe they can do more.

He added that humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza needs to be significantly increased and it is unacceptable that aid has been limited by bureaucratic obstacles. The resolution submitted to the UN Security Council was vetoed once again. Thirteen out of 15 members voted in favor of a United Arab Emirates Security Council resolution calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, with the UK absent.
