Canada Global(Web News)The Board of Directors of the Norwegian Police Service (NAPS) has suspended Police Chief Roland Morrison over allegations of misconduct.
The board’s liaison, Fabian Batise, confirmed that Morrison was suspended with pay on Thursday pending the results of an independent investigation.Deputy
Chief Brad Doss will remain suspended until then. will serve until an interim chief is appointed for the remainder of the investigation.
“Acting Chief Davis has had a long and respected career with NAPS,” said a news release issued Friday by NAPS’s board for 34 First Nations in northern Ontario
. The nature was not specified.
Morrison, a member of the Chaplu Cree First Nation, was appointed police chief after rising through the ranks of the service in April 2019. Prior to
his full-time appointment, Morrison served as deputy chief of police for six years. Gazzare and became acting chief in September 2018 following the retirement of Terry Armstrong.
