The Ford government made a new deal with the City of Toronto

Canada Global(Web News)  In a new deal with the City of Toronto, the Province of Ontario will bear the entire cost of the Gardiner Expressway and the Don Valley Parkway. With this, the responsibility of maintaining these two important highways will not remain with the city.

In return, the city will close its open-air plan for Ontario Place. This step will pave the way for the Ford government’s plan to redevelop important lands. Details of this latest agreement were shared by Premier Doug Ford and Toronto Mayor Olivia Chao at a joint news conference in Queen’s Park on Monday morning.
On this occasion, Ford said that after several weeks of constructive negotiations, we have reached this new historic agreement. He said that these two highways are very important to make the economy of the province successful. Ford said that toll will not be levied on these highways. On this occasion, Chao said that he is happy with this agreement because it will increase the capacity of the City, it will save money for the City and we will be able to help the people more. Ford also said that we still need the federal government on our side so that all levels of government can work together.
