Canada Global(Web News)Patolo Bridge connecting the two cities of BC New Westminster and Surrey, the construction work of which has been going on for the past several years, the opening date of this bridge was extended several times last year and it is ready to 2024. It will happen but now again the same old tune has been said that the bridge will not be opened before 2025.

The current bridge opened in 1937 and has been under construction since 2020 at a cost of $1.4 billion. When construction began, the bridge was said to be completed by 2023. But now the news has come that it is being said that the bridge cannot be dedicated to the public before the middle of 2025. That means the people traveling on this route will have to face traffic jam problems for another 1 year.

Notably, $1.4 billion is being spent on the Patolo Bridge and will include several upgrades to the bridge, including safer pedestrian and bicycle lanes, wider roadways and bridge crossings. A safe passage is included for those who do. It will also be constructed with two river tunnels instead of the existing six, to minimize the project’s impact on the ecosystem.
