Canada Global(Web News)Teachers across Punjab are protesting against the Liwan cashment and privatization of government schools, the police arrested many teachers while cracking down.
In Lahore, the police arrested more than 100 protesting teachers and civil servants, while in Faisalabad, protesters pelted stones at the police, after which the police dispersed the protesters by firing in the air and shelling.
Protests were also held by teachers in Gujranwala, Gujarat, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Miyanch, while in Hafizabad, students along with teachers also took to the streets.
A case was registered by the police against more than 125 students, two headmasters and teachers for blocking the highway during the protest.
Schools were also locked by teachers in Patuki
On the other hand, teachers in Gujranwala also boycotted education by locking schools, female and male teachers gathered in front of the DC office, thousands of female and male teachers from across the district are participating in the protest.
Teacher leaders have demanded that privatization of government schools be stopped and group insurance on retirement be provided.
