Canada Global (Web News) The T20 World Cup has been won by England after a five-wicket victory over Pakistan.

Ben Stokes made a half-century on Sunday in Melbourne to lead England home after they needed 138 to win the championship for a second time. Pakistan’s aggressive fast bowling caused England to falter in the chase.

After winning the 50-over World Cup on home soil in 2019, England is the first country to hold both the global and Olympic white-ball championships.

Pakistan’s Babar Azam is expected to do “something special” in the T20 semi-finals: Hayden

Canada Global TV (Web News) According to squad coach Matthew Hayden, Pakistan’s best is still to come and struggling captain Babar Azam is due “something very exceptional” in their T20 World Cup semifinal match against New Zealand on Wednesday.

The Netherlands unexpectedly overcame South Africa, and Pakistan subsequently defeated Bangladesh to claim their second consecutive last-four ticket, allowing the 2009 winners to barely make it into the knockout rounds.

They intended to make the most of their second chance, according to former Australia opener and current team mentor Hayden, who served as Pakistan’s batting coach in the previous World Cup.

On the eve of the semi-final in Sydney, he observed, “When the Netherlands beat South Africa it was a major occasion for us, a really significant time for the team in general around fulfilling its potential.”

Numerous prayers were offered when Pakistan awoke to learn of the outcome; after all, 232 million people cannot all be incorrect. As a result, I believe our group’s tempo has risen significantly.

It’s been a roller coaster, but I firmly feel we still haven’t displayed our finest performance, which poses a serious threat to the opposition.

When facing a top-notch New Zealand attack led by Tim Southee, Trent Boult, and Lockie Ferguson, Pakistan’s batting has been vulnerable despite the improvement in their bowling, under the direction of Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Thanks to Shaheen Afridi’s four wickets, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by five wickets in Adelaide to reach the semi-finals of the ICCT Twenty20 World Cup.
Before that, the chances of Pakistan reaching the semi-finals were very low, but after the upset loss to South Africa by the Netherlands, Pakistan needed to beat Bangladesh to make it to the final four.
    What the Shaheens did
Bangladesh scored 127 runs while playing first and eight of their players were dismissed

Pakistan’s opening pair scored 57 runs for the opening wicket and it looked like they would lead Pakistan to an easy victory, but after the wickets fell, it became a little difficult but Pakistan achieved the desired target.

  • India hopes to pursue toward the T20 World Cup semi-finals.

India hopes to pursue toward the T20 World Cup semi-finals.

Canada Global Tv: All-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin stated on Saturday that for India to defeat Zimbabwe and go to the Twenty20 World Cup semifinals, they must apply early pressure and execute with precision.

India and Bangladesh will face off at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday after India narrowly defeated Bangladesh by five runs to take the group lead with six points after four games.

If they defeat the Africans, they will go to the last four.

On the other hand, depending on the results of Sunday’s other games, in which Pakistan plays Bangladesh and South Africa plays the Netherlands, they could still be caught if defeated.

“Simply put, we must be as clinical as we can. No team (in this competition) is given a free pass, “Ashwin stated. “We must go out there and use the bat to counter that opening phase while continuing to bowl those quality deliveries to apply pressure.

“We know that good teams will play with precision and apply pressure since this game is a must-win.

He continued, “We’re looking forward to the game.” “However, Zimbabwe has played some excellent cricket, so we can’t just walk in and expect them to lose. We applaud them for their strong batting and bowling performances.”

With the exception of a mathematical miracle, Zimbabwe is practically eliminated from semi-final contention, but captain Craig Ervine is confident they can ruin India’s party after their shocking one-run victory against Pakistan earlier in the competition.

The victory over Pakistan, he continued, “has clearly given us a big amount of belief that we can beat any side in the tournament.” That won’t alter going into tomorrow’s game, in my opinion.

Australia is out of the T20 World Cup as England advances.

Canada Global Tv: In a thorn four-wicket victory over Sri Lanka , Ben Stokes hit a valiant unbeaten 42 runs as England advanced to the T20 World Cup semifinals, halting Australia’s championship defence.

With New Zealand already qualified for the round of 8, England needed to win to join them in the final four. They did it in a nail-biting finale with two balls remaining.
Australia would have won if they had lost.

When Sri Lanka reached 80-2 after 10 overs, they appeared to be headed for a large total. However, the aggressive Pathum Nissanka was dismissed for 67, and the team collapsed to 141-8 with Mark Wood getting 3-26.

In response, England sped to 75 points without a loss and appeared to be headed for an easy victory. But as Sri Lanka’s spin attack put pressure on them, they fell apart and the game ended at 111-5.

Despite winning, England had to settle for second place behind New Zealand at the top of the standings. On Sunday, Group 1’s future will be decided.

Australia’s sputtering tournament came to an end with Sri Lanka’s defeat; their championship defence never recovered from a crushing loss to New Zealand on the first day and then having to share the points with England due to rain.

In order to surpass 1,000 T20 career runs, Nissanka reached his second 50 of the competition and ninth overall before stomping Stokes for six.

Adil Rashid’s tight bowling, though, slowed the run rate and allowed him to eventually dismiss Nissanka, who heaved to replacement fielder Chris Jordan at long-on after a 45-ball innings.

With three wickets falling in the final over, Sri Lanka never recovered its form, scoring just 25 runs off its final five overs.

In response, Alex Hales and Jos Buttler scored 70 runs off a six-over powerplay while slamming 11 boundaries.

When Buttler (28) and Hales (47) were dismissed in the span of three overs due to the spin of Wanindu Hasaranga, Sri Lanka gained optimism.
