    Canada Global(Web News) Five public-private partnership (P3) high schools have completed construction, opening their doors to new classrooms for more than 6,900 students across Alberta this fall.

    More families than ever are moving to Alberta, and the Government of Alberta is building new schools across the province to quickly and efficiently meet the needs of communities. As part of Alberta Infrastructure’s approach to building schools, P3 delivery is used when the goal is to complete multiple projects on time and at a cost to taxpayers.

    Through this state-of-the-art P3 construction, the Government of Alberta saved $114.5 million to provide high-needs schools located in Blackfalds, Langdon, Leduc and two in Edmonton. These savings are calculated based on costs compared to delivering high schools using other methods. The P3 project also injected millions of dollars into these local communities and supported nearly 1,700 construction-related jobs.
