Statistics Canada Will Release Its Latest Reading On Inflation Today

Canada Global(Web News) Statistics Canada is expected to release its latest reading on inflation today.

The agency will publish its consumer price index for October this morning before the federal government releases its autumn economic statement in the afternoon. Annual inflation was 3·8 per cent in September and economists expect inflation to moderate in October as petrol prices ease and food prices ease.
The news of lower inflation will also be good for the Bank of Canada as it looks for evidence of lower consumer prices. The Bank of Canada will make its next decision on interest rates on December 6.
