Even before the announcement by the government of Pakistan, a large number of illegal Afghans have been returning to Afghanistan from Pakistan for fear of arrest.
374 men, 319 women and 514 children were among the 1,207 Afghan nationals who left Pakistan on December 29, 2023, while the total number of illegal Afghans who have left Pakistan has reached 453,480.
This series of repatriation of Afghan citizens is ongoing, so far 131 families in 112 vehicles have been repatriated to Afghanistan.
