Rangers And Army Will Be Deployed In Punjab During The Elections, Caretaker Government

 Canada Global(Web News) The caretaker government of Punjab has approved the interim budget for 4 months (November 2023 to February 2024) of the current financial year 2024, with a total amount of 2027 billion rupees.

While giving a press conference in Lahore, Provincial Information Minister Aamir Mir said that 450 billion rupees have been allocated for the four-month development budget in Punjab, 10 billion rupees for priority projects in the agricultural sector, 2 billion rupees for IT and Punjab. A deposit of Rs. The government has allocated 80 billion rupees to repay the debts of the federal government.

He further said that 10 billion rupees was approved for the construction and repair of roads and buildings.

Regarding the elections, Provincial Information Minister Amir Mir said that the elections will be held at the appointed time.

He said that Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja and Caretaker Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi have reiterated their commitment to conduct transparent and impartial elections.

Referring to the Punjab government’s meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner, he said that more than 50,000 polling stations are being built in Punjab, more than 7,000 have been declared sensitive where there will be additional security. Apart from this, more than 260,000 personnel will be deployed at these polling stations and 145,000 army and rangers personnel will also be on duty here.

He further said that special security arrangements will be made for international observers, additional security will be provided to them.

He said that for election 2023, Punjab will have 141 constituencies of National Assembly and 298 constituencies of Punjab Assembly.

Aamir Mir said that Chief Minister Punjab told Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja that preparations have been started for holding the election 2023 and all steps will be taken in the light of the instructions of the Election Commission.
