Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar is visiting China to participate in the ‘3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation’ to be held in Beijing from October 17 to 18.
The Prime Minister will attend the inauguration of the BRF and address a high-level forum titled ‘Connectivity in an Open Global Economy,’ the Prime Minister’s Office said yesterday.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar will hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, besides this, he is also expected to meet with many other leaders during the 2-day talks.
The forum in Beijing is being held to mark the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping’s Global Infrastructure and Energy Initiative, which aims to rebuild the ancient Silk Road to boost global trade.
Chinese officials said that one of the important MoUs to be signed for Pakistan is related to the establishment of a Highway Research and Training Center (HRTC) with China. This project will be a prominent focus during the talks with the Prime Minister.
