According to the details, after PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf mentioned the reconciliation between the Sharif brothers and related parties regarding the return of Nawaz Sharif on October 21, another senior member of the People’s Party from Punjab. The leader objected to the intention of giving official protocol to Nawaz Sharif on his return home.
The General Secretary of People’s Party Punjab, Hasan Murtaza, while holding a press conference yesterday, said that there is no justification for giving the official protocol to the convicted Nawaz Sharif on his return to Pakistan.
While holding a press conference along with PPP Lahore President Aslam Gul, Hasan Murtaza said that Nawaz Sharif should return home and complete his prison term and only after that should think of contesting elections.
Nawaz Sharif went to London for ‘treatment’ in 2019 during his 7-year jail sentence in the Al-Azizia corruption case when the Lahore High Court granted him bail for ‘4 weeks’.
During these 4 years, he was declared an admiral due to his continuous absence from court proceedings in the Al-Azizia and Avonfield corruption cases.
Nawaz Sharif is currently in Saudi Arabia and will leave for Pakistan via Dubai on October 21 and address a rally at Minar Pakistan, his legal team will apply for his security next week.
Hassan Murtaza said that one thing should not be forgotten that Nawaz Sharif has a huge burden of cases on his shoulders and he has also been punished.
He also advised Nawaz Sharif and JUI(F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman not to become spokespersons of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and let it do its job.
Accusing the caretaker government, the leader of the People’s Party said that it is doing everything except holding general elections.
He said that the caretaker government’s main responsibility is to conduct elections and it is doing all other work but is oblivious to its real work.
Hasan Murtaza said that the People’s Party reserves the right to go to court to stop these development works in Punjab, whose purpose is to benefit a ‘specific party’.
He said that government employees are working as personal servants and it is not a level playing field, PPP will continue to point out such things.
