Canada Global(Web News) Polling for general elections is going on in Bangladesh today.
Voting has started across the country and citizens will be able to exercise their right to vote till 4 pm.
According to foreign media, there is a clear possibility that Prime Minister Hasina Wajid will be elected Prime Minister for the fifth time due to the opposition’s boycott.
On the other hand, the opposition parties have given a call for a 2-day nationwide strike, and other opposition parties, including the National Party, have boycotted the election and appealed to the public not to vote.
According to media reports, 5 schools and 4 polling booths were set on fire in Dhaka during the violent incidents before the election, while 5 people were killed in a passenger train fire on Friday.
The police held the opposition responsible for the incident and arrested 7 members, while the opposition rejected the allegations.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh also declared the Bangladesh National Party as a terrorist organization.
