Canada Global(Web News) According to RCMP, officers were called to the flight around noon after a disruptive passenger caused the plane to turn back onto the terrace and make an emergency landing.
Terrace RCMP said officers were advised the passenger was unruly, did not remain in his seat during takeoff and was attempting to exit. The passenger admitted to using an illegal substance prior to takeoff.
Other passengers on board helped the man, restraining him until the flight touched down and police were able to board the plane.
Police said they have arrested the person on board the plane under the Mental Health Act. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
A WestJet spokesperson confirmed the incident, saying the flight eventually arrived in Calgary with some delays.
