Canada Global (Web News) The Passport Processing Counter for inland online passport renewal and an e-passport service for citizens of the federal capital was opened by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Saturday.
In his remarks at the event, he said that the action would significantly reduce the risks of identity theft and passport fraud, while increasing confidence in the country’s passport system abroad.
The minister claims that the electronic passport facility contains state-of-the-art security features including biometric data, a digital signature, and encryption.
According to him, using this service will allow individuals to renew their passports without visiting any of Pakistan’s passport offices.
Applicants will be able to submit their applications, upload the necessary files, and monitor the status of their applications using the web site, according to him.
According to Rana Sanaullah, digital transformation would not only help individuals save important time, but it will also simplify the e-passport issue procedure.
He said that the Passport Processing Counters will be extended to 30 other cities, which would increase public access to the passport service.
