The Saim Sadiq-directed movie gets chosen as Pakistan’s first entry in the International Feature Film category of the Oscars.
On Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the shortlists for the ten Oscar categories for 2023.
Malala, who recently joined team Joyland as an executive producer, called director Saim Sadiq to congratulate him on his achievement and to share this “moment of Pakistani pride” with him.
