Canada Global (Web News) Pakistan’s diplomacy failed in the UN Security Council regarding the Pahalgam incident.
India’s wish against Pakistan could not be fulfilled, only the words of all the relevant authorities were used in the Security Council. The statement in the Security Council was proposed by the United States but a unanimous statement could not be passed. Pakistan did not allow the controversial words to be included through diplomatic efforts. Pakistan also included the word Jammu and Kashmir in the statement. India wanted the word Pahalgam to be included to give the impression that India had occupied occupied Kashmir. India was unable to express its condemnation immediately by failing to include the word Pahalgam. The attack in Pahalgam took place on April 22, while the condemnation statement was issued 4 days later on April 26. The UN official said that the UN expresses concern about the situation in the region and India and Pakistan should show restraint to prevent the situation from deteriorating.
