Ontario Man Charged With First-Degree Murder After Missing Friend Dies

Canada Global(Web News)Ontario Provincial Police have upgraded the charges against a 25-year-old man to first-degree murder after his friend was reported missing and later found dead early last month.

On January 21, Gabriel DiCecco, from the township of Adjala-Tosorontio, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with obstructing a peace officer and desecrating a corpse.

On Thursday, police added a new charge of first-degree murder.
The charges are in connection with the death of 24-year-old William Shernerhammer, from Elstnavant.

Police say Sherenhammer’s body was found Jan. 21 in the area of ​​the 25th Sideroad west of Barrie, just west of Barrie, Ont.
Sherenhammer was reported missing to OPP officers in Nottawasaga on Jan. 12 after she did not return home.
He was last seen alive in Allston on January 12 at 12:30 p.m.
