Canada Global(Web News) An Islamic community center in Van was evacuated after receiving a bomb threat.
York Regional Police (YRP) said they attended the community center near Bathurst Street and Nor Israel Drive on Thursday night after receiving a report of a suspected bomb. The building was immediately evacuated and officials searched the entire area. No injuries were reported.
A police spokesman said the Jaffrey Community Center was the only building to be evacuated. Police confirmed on Thursday morning that they were investigating after receiving a bomb threat. The threat is still being investigated, but VERP said there is no threat to public safety. Police officials have returned from the scene.
