Canada Global (Web News) Instant messaging application WhatsApp is going to introduce a new feature to add another dimension to users’ privacy. This feature will protect users’ IP address and prevent their location from being revealed during WhatsApp calls.
Under this feature all calls of users will be connected through WhatsApp server instead of connecting directly. Which means the user’s IP will not be visible to the person receiving the call. Group calls already go through the server under WhatsApp’s default settings, so users can hide their IP during individual calls. This option has to be turned on by going to settings.

Users can choose Protect IP Address in Calls option by going to Privacy & Advanced option in Settings. The same procedure has to be followed to turn off the option. On the other hand, WhatsApp further stated that the call quality will be affected after turning on the new feature. Call quality will decrease through WhatsApp server. But all calls made will be end-to-end encrypted so that no one can eavesdrop.
